The Aim

From a constantly growing repertoire of exercises, trained Callanetics teachers create a wide variety of programmes – because intelligent training must also be fun.

Callanetics was originally developed by Callan Pinckney in the USA, and her forerunner, Lotte Berk in England. The exercises are being further developed in close co-operation with doctors and specialists for movement coordination. They are formulated according to the most modern knowledge of anatomy. Trained instructors regularly attend workshops to keep up to date – for your safety.

The Technique

Polished exercises, which are precisely coordinated with each other, train all muscle groups. Efficiently. Gently. Powerfully.Exact positions and tiny movements with many repetitions activate muscle cells and build strength. Dynamic stretching of the muscles makes them flexible.


In the South African Callanetics programme, safety of your back and joints is of utmost importance. Each and every exercise is in harmony with your body’s anatomy. Your spinal column dictates the optimum position. Trained instructors teach you – individually – in small groups with not more than 12 participants.
